Class Schedule: Mon.-Fri. 1:00 pm to 4:00pm

Course length: 12weeks

English level: Advanced

Starting date: Every Monday

This is an extremely intensive 12 week program. It is designed to take students to the next level in terms of their communication abilities. Specifically tailored for advanced students, this program pushes students to break through the communication plateau that many students experience. A variety of tasks are used to encourage critical thinking. Students will share personal experiences and cultural perspectives through a range of activities. The balance of material will tilt towards the academic, rather than the conversational.

With academic topics dominating the course, students will first be introduced to a great deal of vocabulary structures connected to the class content. This will be introduced through a variety of academic level reading and listening passages (including lectures). Once students are comfortable with both the content and vocabulary connected to the topic, the majority of the class will be devoted to students developing communication skills connected to the topic. Students will first personalize the topic and often gather data in connection to the theme and finally present the data in a variety of ways.

Course Content/Topics

The topics covered in this program will be studied in much greater depth than in most programs. They will be at times challenging. However students at this level should be able to cope with academic themes. Weekly Topics (1-12) are listed below :
